Anjana Om Kashyap was born on June 12, 1975, in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. The anchor belongs to a Bihari ethnic family. Her father Late Dr. Om Prakash Tiwari is a Defence Officer and her mother’s name is not known. She did her schooling at Delhi Public School, Ranchi, and graduated in Botany from the University of Delhi. Anjana Om Kashyap started her career as a counselor at Daewoo motors and then worked in NGO, but she did not like this job. In 2000, Anjana completed a diploma in journalism from Jamia Millia Islamia.
In 2003, Anjana started her journalism career with the Doordarshan program ‘Ankhon Dekhi’. In the following year, she joined the ‘Zee News’ channel as an Anchor. In 2007, Anjana moved to ‘News 24’ where she played an anchoring role in an evening debate show. Then the anchor shifted to ‘Star News’ in 2012. After a few months later she joined ‘Aaj Tak’ by following her immediate boss.
The journalist covered the Nirbhaya Rape case and published news about child rape victims. Anjana reported the news about anti-Muslim where she talked about Ram Mandir and the Islamic festival Eid-al-Adha. In 2019, Anjana talked about the slow rate of India’s GDP under the premiership of Modi on the show “Halla Bol.” for that, she was criticized by social media.
