Alka Kaushal made her acting debut appearing in the television series ‘Gaatha’ which was produced by Ramesh Sippy. In 2002, Alka appeared in the television series ‘Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan’ in the role of Sukanya Wadhwa. The actress acted in Imagine TV’s serial ‘Jyoti’ in 2009 which she played the role of Choti Maa. In 2020, Alka worked in many TV serials like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai as Sita Choudhury, Nazar 2 as Narmada Choudhary, and Barrister Babu as Tara Bai. At present Alka appears in the drama series ‘Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani’ in the role of Devi Sabherwal.
The actress made her film debut with the comedy-drama Hindi film ‘Queen’ in 2014 which she played the supporting role of Mrs. Mehra. One year later, she released a comedy film ‘Dharam Sankat Mein’ in the role of Dharam Pal’s wife along with Paresh Rawal, Naseeruddin Shah, and Annu Kapoor. The actress is famous for the role of Kareena Kapoor’s mother in the Hindi comedy-drama film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ in 2015. Then Alka worked in the Hindi buddy comedy film ‘Veere Di Wedding’ as Mrs. Santosh Bhandari. In 2018, the actress played the lead role of Gudan bhua in the Hindi comedy-drama film ‘Badhaai Ho’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, and Gajraj Rao.
