Geeta Phogat was born on December 15, 1988, in Balali village, Haryana, India. Her father Mahavir Singh Phogat is a wrestler and her mother Shobha Kaur is a homemaker. She has a brother named Modu and three sisters named Babita Kumari, Sangita Phogat, Ritu Phogat. The wrestler did her schooling in Haryana and completed her graduation from MDU, Rohtak, Haryana.
Geeta Phogat Career
Geeta Phogat started her career as a freestyle wrestler. In 2009, she won the gold medal at Commonwealth Wrestling Championship. One year later, Geeta participated in the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi and won the gold medal. In 2012, the wrestler qualified for the Summer Olympics, after she participated in that tournament and won the gold medal.
In the following year, Geeta contested World Wrestling Championships and won the bronze medal. One year later, she participated Commonwealth Wrestling Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa where she won the silver medal. In 2015, Geeta also participated Asian Wrestling Championships in Doha where she won the bronze medal.
Geeta participated in the Colors TV reality show ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Season-8’ in 2017. She also appeared in Bigg Boss 11, and Nach Baliye as a guest.
