Mithila Palkar is a famous actress in the Indian film industry who starts her career in Marathi movies. The rising on-screen character Palkar is not only an actress but also a singer. Early Life, Education, Family
Mithila Palkar was born on 12 January 1993, into a Marathi family in Mumbai, India. She has a sister and no brother. There were no actors in her family. Thus at first, her grandfather didn’t endorse her choice to act.
She studied at IES’s Modern English School, Dadar. After that, she admitted herself to College to complete a higher secondary in Science, but she completed her bachelor’s degree in Mass Media (BMM) at MMK College, Bandra.
Then she involved herself with films as well as with theaters. Quasar Padamsee of Quasar Theater Productions (QTP) took her first audition, but she could not get the role from the audition. Yet, Quasar gave Palkar an opportunity behind the stage, dealing with their theater celebration, Thespo.
Mithila Palkar has recently prepared herself in Hindustani traditional music with the help of Marathi singer Varsha Bhave in Kathak, and also took intense training in acting at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in Los Angeles.
Mithila Palkar Career
Mithila Palkar made her acting introduction in the Marathi short film “Majha Honeymoon” in 2014, which was exhibited at the sixteenth Mumbai International Film Festival. In the Indian film industry, her first achievement was in June 2014, when she was selected for the role of Imran Khan’s sister in Katti Batti.
In March 2016 she released the “cup song”, version “Hi Chal Turu Turu” which made her popular. Mithila’s cup song turned into a web sensation on YouTube with over 4 million views. In the meantime, Dhruv Sehgal met with Palkar at Thespo and offered her an audition for Filter Copy’s new satire show on the YouTube channel named “News Darshan”.
In 2017, Palkar made her debut not only in two plays but also in Marathi cinema “Muramba”. She also led her first role in a Hindi film named Karwaan alongside Irrfan Khan, Dulquer Salmaan, and Kriti Kharbanda in 2018. In February 2018, Forbes India named Mithila Palkar as young achiever in their Forbes 30 under 30 lists.
In 2019, she also acted in a Netflix original film called Chopsticks. Her next Netflix film “Tribhanga” shooting began in October 2019. Palkar named herself on Entrepreneur India’s 35 Under 35 list in 2020.

Mithila Palkar achieved the Best Actress (Comedy) at iReel Awards and also Best Actress (Comedy/Romance) at Critics’ Choice Shorts and Series Awards in 2019. Besides, she took the IWMBuzz Digital Awards 2019 as the most popular actress in a Web Series on MTV.
