Rashmi Desai is an Indian television and film actress. The actress is best known for playing the role ‘Tapasya Raghuvendra Pratap Rathore’ in the TV serial “Uttaran.” She works in many Hindi and Bhojpuri films.
Early Life & Family
Rashami Desai was born on February 13, 1986, in Nagaon, Assam, India to parents Ajay Desai and Rasila Desai. But the actress belongs to a middle-class Gujarati Hindu Family. Rashami lost her father when she was young and her mother is a teacher. Rashami has a brother named Gaurav Desai. Rashmi Desai did her schooling at JB Khot Primary School, Borivali East, Mumbai, and completed her Diploma from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.
Rashmi Desai Career
Rashmi started her acting career with the local Assamese film Kanyadaan in 2000. Following three years later in 2003, she made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke’. The actress also appeared in the Bollywood film ‘Shabnam Mausi’. Rashmi worked in the Bhojpuri film industry. She becomes famous for Bhojpuri films Balma Bada Nadaan, Gabbar Singh, and Tohse Pyar Ba. The actress won the National Award for Best Bhojpuri Feature Film ‘Kab Hoi Gauna Hammar’. In 2017, She made her Gujarati Film debut appearing in the movie “Superstar”.
In 2006, Rashmi made her television debut with the drama series Ravan on Zee TV. Then the actress appeared in an English film titled ‘Sambar Salsa’. In 2008, she lead a double role in Star one’s Pari Hoon Main. At the same time, the actress entered Colors TV’s show, ‘Uttaran’, and portrayed the negative role Tapasya.
The actress also acted in web series. She made a web series debut titled ‘Tandoor’ alongside Tanuj Virwaniin. It is an investigative thriller about a married couple and an unexpected murder.
