Golam Maula Rony was born in 1967, in Faridpur District, Bangladesh to parents Monowara Begum and Samsuddin Munshi. His family moved to Patuakhali in 1974. He completed SSC in Patuakhali. Then came to Dhaka and was admitted into Dhaka College where he completed his HSC. He completed his LL.B from the University of Dhaka. He received further education in the same subject in Chicago, Illinois, United States.
