Early Life, Family & Education
McConnell was born February 20, 1942, to parents Addison Mitchell McConnell Sr. and Julia Odene McConnell. McConnell was born in Alabama and raised in nearby Athens. The popular politician attended duPont Manual High School and graduated from there.
Later he studied at the University of Louisville and passed with a B.A. in political science. McConnell waS president of the ‘Student Council’ in his school and college life. In 1967, McConnell graduated from the University Of Kentucky College Of Law, where he was president of the Student Bar Association.
Mitch McConnell Career
McConnell started his career journey by serving as a chief legislative assistant. After that, he joined as a deputy assistant attorney general.
In 1977 the famous politician was selected as the judge-executive of Kentucky’s Jefferson. His continuous effort and efficiency helped the Americans to live their lives peacefully. Later in 1984, he defeated an incumbent Democratic senator and was selected by a huge amount of votes.
After that McConnell normalized the Republican majority after the Senate trial which started in January 2020.
Personal Life
McConnell married Sherrill Redmon and the couple has three daughters. In 1993, the couple got divorced and he married the secretary of George W. Bush, Elaine Chao. The couple still doesn’t have any children.
