Saumya Tandon started her career as a model and walked on a ramp on several fashion shows. In 2006, she participated Femina Cover Girl contest and achieved first runner-up. At the same time, the actress made her acting debut with the Hindi television serial Aisa Des Hai Mera on Sony TV which she portrayed the role of Rusty Deol.
In 2011, The actress worked as co-hosted in the Indian reality games show Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout on Imagine TV along with Shahrukh Khan. Saumya appeared in the Indian popular dance reality show Dance India Dance season 1, 2, and 3 on Zee TV. The actress worked Kapil Sharma in the popular sketch and celebrity talk show Comedy Nights With Kapil on Colors TV.
