Sarwar Alam was born on December 28, in Pakundia, Kishoreganj, Bangladesh to parents Borhan Uddin and Amena Khatun. He is the first of six children born to his parents. His father is a businessman where mother is a housewife.
Alam studied at Gurudayal Govt College, Kishoreganj, and completed HSC here. Then he admitted into the University of Dhaka in Zoology. He also received a diploma degree from the Institute of Public Administration in Sydney, Australia.
